Carmen at Dubai Opera

One of the world’s most popular productions Carmen features itself at Dubai Opera.The Armenian National Academic Theatre Opera and Orchestra will bring to life the dramatic tale of the doomed love affair of a soldier, Don Jose, who falls for Carmen, a fiery gypsy.0
Written by French composer Georges Bizet, and first performed in 1875, it features arias including ‘Habanera’ and the famous ‘Toreador Song’. It has also gone on to become one of the most frequently performed operas in the world- playing at the New York Metropolitan Opera more than one thousand times!

The Magic Flute at Dubai Opera

The Armenian National Academic Theatre Opera and Orchestra will take to the stage at Dubai Opera to perform The Magic Flute, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final operatic peice.First performed in 1791, two months before Mozart’s death, he famously conducted the orchestra at the first performance. A comical fairy tale that takes place in a fantasy world set to Mozart’s enchanting tune, The Magic Flute tells the story of a Prince named Tamino and his companion Papageno as they help out the Queen of the Night, and set out to rescue her daughter Pamina.

Asia Cricket Cup 2018

13 September - 28 September 2018

The 14th edition of the Asia Cricket Cup comes to Dubai with six teams set to compete in the prestigious sporting tournament, which will take place in the UAE with more than 25,000 fans expected to fill up the stands. Defending champions India as well as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan and one other nation will travel to the Emirates with the Asian Cricket Council-organised event featuring a series of 50-overs games between the teams. ‚ÄčLearn the Tips and Tricks of Documentary Filmmaking

05 September - 12 September 2018

Dubai's arts hub presents its third annual summer programme for 2018. The workshops, lectures, performances, and seminars are inspired by the UAE’s creative community. They enable learners to explore the connection between the senses and our personal and collective memories. As part of the collection of free events, this two-part workshop will teach the basics of documentary filmmaking, including editing, story boarding and script writing. Accepting all levels of experience, the workshops will be led by renound Wafa and Amirah Tajdin, documentary filmmakers and founders of Seven Thirty Films. The workshop is limited to 12 participants. Shreya Ghoshal Concert

Super Sport Triathlon

Whether you are a first timer of professional tri-athlete, this race welcomes all ages, abilities and relay teams of 2 or 3 athletes. Along side calm waters in the Mamzar Beach Park lagoon, closed roads and a designated running track ensure safety during the race. 

Trendy Music, aid stations for athletes & supporters cheering on the participants gives this event a tue atmosphere of community. the categories of races include: the Junior Super Sprint comprising a 180 metre swim, 8 kilometres of cycling and a 1.25 kilometre run for those under 12; Olympic triathlon, which is a 1.5 kilometre swim, a 40 kilometre cycle and a 10 kilometre run. For competitors, race check-in and warm-ups begin at 5:30am, while fans and supporters should aim to arrive at 7am to watch the races start.

Arabs Are Not Funny Comedy Show

 Arts Canteen’s comedy night presents “Arabs Are Not Funny” for the second time this year, with a new line-up of comedians taking over at Dubai Opera. Stereotype-smashing social commentary and observational comedy are a part of the entertainment line-up. Egyptian-Welsh comic Omar Hamdi has performed along side popular comedians including Russell Kane, Ava Vidal and Milton Jones. A regular sell-out at the Edinburgh Fringe, he was a recent finalist at their So YouThink You’re Funny awards. This is one show worth every penny!

PaRUS Music Festival

PaRUS International Music Festival is hosting its second annual visit to Dubai, giving fans a change to get up close and personal with some top Russian pop and rock musicians. Dubai Mordern Sailing Championship

Dubai International Marine Club  at Mina Seyahi hosts a full-day of exciting waterborne racing activities turning the Dubai coastline into a sports arena. Contemporary yachting enthusiasts can witness the thrill of this Modern Sailing Championship. Founded in 1988, DIMC proudly organised the waterborne racing series to encourage sporting excellence and to take advantage of Dubai's lengthy coastline. The dhow races can attract around 100 or more of the traditional wooden-hulled craft, making this event a true sight to see.
